Jesus' parable of the talents contains all the wisdom we need in order to live out our faith. Our God expects us to be bold, to take risks, and not to act out of fear. Perhaps the greatest Sin is the failure to live out our calling by burying our God-given gifts in the ground.

In the original ending to Mark's story of the first Easter the women flee the empty tomb in fear and don't tell anyone about what they saw and heard! Is that any way to end a gospel? What does such an ending say about our own experience of Easter?

When the Babylonians conquered Judah, the prophet Ezekiel witnessed the Shekinah of God rise and leave the Jerusalem Temple, heading east out of the city. Now 600 years later, on a road down FROM the Mount of Olives, Jesus approaches the east Gate of Jerusalem. What do we do when God leaves town? And what do we do when he returns?
