When God Left Town

When the Babylonians conquered Judah, the prophet Ezekiel witnessed the Shekinah of God rise and leave the Jerusalem Temple, heading east out of the city. Now 600 years later, on a road down FROM the Mount of Olives, Jesus approaches the east Gate of Jerusalem. What do we do when God leaves town?
